Update on this:
I looked into this and it is indeed a bug but the way Google calendar (and other calendars) handle recurring tasks is pretty tricky so I need to come up with a long term solution for this.
Leaving this up for now in case anyone else comes across this but for now recurring tasks in Ellie will
not
show up as recurring tasks in Google calendarThey will however appear once they are interacted with in some way

Chris: I have the same issue. Thanks for addressing it, I hope there will be a solution to it in the future. I share my calendar with others, and if they can't see what I'm doing when I'm doing it, that's a problem.

Bec: This is correct. They currently don't sync. They will be one-off tasks
For transparency: The reason is because recurring tasks are
complicated
and there were a lot of edge cases where editing a recurring task on Google would break Ellie and I decided to keep it simple for now until enough people ask. This could change in the future so leaving this up for people to vote if there is enough demand!

Chris hi Chris, have you considered allowing us to put an end date to recurring tasks on Ellie? might help with integration with google cal. so for example if the recurring tasks ends in 2 weeks or 2 years to connect, it may be easier rather than it looping forever
