Feature requests

I think it would really helpful to be able to use the timer for subtasks, not just tasks! I love this app because I can track how efficient I am, but this is one thing that limits the ease of use for me. I currently use subtasks to keep organized, but then have to type out each subtask into a task/label it just to be able to use the timer. Thank you so much for all the great features and interface! Its the best productivity app I've found so I was really surprised this is a one man project!!

One of the things I miss from Sunsama is the weekly goals and aligning my tasks to them. For instance I have a Visualization Map project at work. I have scoped it to be 6 hours. But in Ellie there is no way for me to break that up for say 1.5 hours one day, 3 hours the next etc. In Sunama I can set the overall goal (Finish the Visualization maps) and then make a task for each department, set an estimated time, and have it track towards my weekly goal that is due on Friday. Or I would also be happy with creating a parent task (Finish the Visualization maps) then having. sub-task for each dept. with their estimated time that is tracking off each day and not taking up 6 hours in my timeboxing.

It would be really helpful to be able to move subtasks from one task to another using either drag and drop or a move button. Thank you!

Currently tasks create the timeboxes. But that's not really true timeboxing. True timeboxes should be treaed as placeholders instead, then tasks are dragged into them. For example, I can create one timebox for 3 hours that describes the overall goal during that period, like Content, Outreach, Development, etc. Then drag tasks into each timebox accordingly. For example, the content timebox could have tasks like: Research Topic 30min., Write LinkedIn post 45min., Write FB Group Post 25min., etc. Timebox time will not be calculated towards the actual time - they are just placeholders, so that still remains with the tasks. See attached for an example how the entire day is timeboxed. Tasks are not added to keep it clean for the ilustration, but hopefully you get the idea.

It would be really really helpful to have Live Activity for the timer function so you can see it running on the Lock Screen for iPhone and iPad. Thanks!

1) Is it possible to only show selected calendars in the menu bar? 2) Is it possible to change the line color (currently black) to match the color of the calendar or, if they are tasks, to match the color of the label?

after being marked complete, the timeboxed task reflects the estimated time. but if it took longer or shorter than expected, you might have to rearrange other tasks. it would be helpful to have tasks show the actual time taken to be able to get a more accurate view of the day

Being able to add Gcal events as tasks so the time etc can be tracked, the can be rearranged in the kanban view etc. All syncing to Gcal

I'm testing Ellie for the first time and I really like it thus far. There's one thing that I'm missing for my workflow, so maybe it's worth to consider: I use the notes fields a lot to add context to most tasks. Sometimes this means adding x-callback links to open other apps, e.g. a note in Bear: bear://x-callback-url/open-note?id=C38D6170-DC61-4405-86F9-59E26E1644A0 While http(s) links are recognized and linked, these links only show up as text. One way to solve this would be to support markdown links in the notes field, e.g. [Project Spec](bear://x-callback-url/open-note?id=C38D6170-DC61-4405-86F9-59E26E1644A0) Of cours, recognizing all any protocol in addition to https:// and automatically creating links would also work.
