Split tasks into time chunks

Motion App does a good job of this. It helps will longer tasks that you'd want to split up over a couple days or even a couple weeks if not urgent.
You specify the estimate task time, then specify what minimum chunk should be. Example, if a task takes a few minutes to get in the groove you might want to set a minimum 1 hour chunk, but if it's something like data entry where you can jump in and out, you might set the min. chunk to 15 min.
Right now there is really no useful way to manage longer tasks in Ellie (AFAIK).

I agree with this I have so many longer tasks that would be better to split up over time

Would really love this! One of the major reasons I used Sunsama originally because of how it tackled big tasks (IE: writing a book, which is how I use it). You're looking at doing the same "thing" for anywhere from 40-60 hours, and the need to schedule that in becomes very repetitive.

This would be awesome

Will take a look at Motion, haven't seen many apps tackle this so this is perfect thanks!

Chris FYI - Sunsama also does this, they call this working sessions and you can have multiple working sessions for tasks. It's mentioned here but not explained very clearly haha https://help.sunsama.com/docs/timeboxing-how-to-timebox-a-task-to-the-calendar

Hayley That's pretty much exactly it. Motion uses "AI" to auto-schedule (a cool feature) but I manually planning multi-day working sessions should be the first priority.
I haven't used Sunsama but I wouldn't like that I had to have my "working sessions" sinked with my calendar. I reserve my calendar for actual events.
Also, it would be nice if you could also schedule working sessions using some kind of drag/drop functionality (like hold down ALT and drag) when in calendar view.
Anyway, just some thoughts for @chris.

Scott Henning Totally agree. I moved away from Sunsama for many reasons but I hated that everything synced to the calendar without any other option. I have a task today that I've estimated will take me 4 hours, but I only have an hour today. I have to duplicate the task at the moment, but would be good to be able to break this up into working sessions. :)
