Same task over multiple timeslots

Should be able to work on the same task multiple different time slots over multiple days.
(Eg. working on an assignment over the course of a week. Maybe I spend 2 hours a day on it. And maybe I have a break in betwen - like I work on it between 9-10 and then have a meeting and come back and work on it at 11-12.
I should be able to schedule the same task over multiple timeslots. Like Sunsama. (This is the one feature I need that will prevent me from using this app)

Ooh this feature would be amazing!

Chiming in to echo that this is the one feature that's keeping me from swapping from Sunsama to this app. Really really hoping this will be added soon!

It would be wonderful if sub-task could be calculated too. Sub-tasks are used to show different parts of a big task, it should not be split when we are writing our to-do list. However, since there is no working hour in sub-task, instead there only the working hour of the whole task is calculated. If sub-task can be separately counting the time that consumed, and the task can show daily working hour every day. This would be really awesome.

I struggled with the working working hour too. If I could not finish the assignment on the first day, the task will move to the second day, and summing up the working hour on first day to the second day. Hence, the daily working hour is not accurate. I can only manually duplicate the task every day, to show the real working hour on that day.

Hey take a look at Sunsama for inspiration- it is the only app that offers this currently and is the main reason I use Sunsama over any other app.

Hello hello :)
This post is getting some serious traction and I want to start exploring what this could look like.
There are some awesome suggestions already posted, but if anyone has any ideas on what the flow/UX could look like for this please post below!
For transparency: I have struggled to come up with a good enough UX that feels "natural". Would love to find a creative solution to this problem

Chris: I like the ux from sunsama.
- if you have an existing block already in the timetable, the kanban reflects the total time from the single block (block A)
- Dragging the kanban card into the timetable at a different time creates a new additional block (block B) . The task card on the kanban now reflects the total time for both blocks (block A + B).
- Adjusting the total time in the kanban view adjusts the latest block in the timetable view (ie block B in this scenario, but is essentially alqats block n-1)
- Adjust the blocks within the timetable view for micro adjustments to the time allocation

Chris: Might not be the best idea but what about being able to timebox subtasks (or would that over complicate the UI?). I usually have set subtasks within something big, but worst case if I didn’t I wouldn’t mind calling subtasks 1/2/3 and assigning them the hours. Then the same task would appear in all the days in my kanban, maybe with the subtask in brackets. And maybe when you open the task it has the particular subtask instance you have clicked on highlighted. That way it all stays locked together and when I open a task I get an easy list view of all its separate blocks/instances. Could maybe also have an hours counter by the list of subtasks showing me how far through the overall task I am.

Chris FlowSavvy has a great solution for this. There’s a toggle that let’s you enable splitting the task up over time before the due date. So it automatically splits it up based on your work hours and the due date.

After one day of evaluating the app this is something I immediately bumped against - it would be very useful.
If this were implemented then hopefully past "chunks" would stay in place on the calendar. For example, currently if a task isn't completed on the day its scheduled, say Wed, and then rolls over to Thu, it is removed from the calendar and there is no way to see that I did spend some time on it Wed.

I would love this as well, or at least some version of it. I could see it being done a number of ways - but yes, overall, would love to be able to just have one Long Task instead of Long Task Part 1, Long Task Part 2, etc.

This is what immediately came to mind to me in the first 5 minutes of using the app. It's definitely a must have option for me.
