Chris: Hey so I think Sunsama's is supposedly the best. Akiflow has a sort of low-fi recreation of it that's OK. It's a two-stage process. First it shows you 3 things about yesterday in columns. first a graphical breakdown of what work you did by type, then a big column of the list of completed tasks, finally tasks that didn't get done that'll be moved to today. (You can see some of that at this link: https://akiflow.com/features/rituals/.) Then you jump to the second page of daily planning (example here: https://akiflow.com/blog/morning-rituals/#:~:text=Daily%20Planning%20Ritual&text=Akiflow%20also%20provides%20a%20feature,your%20goals%20for%20the%20day) and it's again 3 columns. First is the list of scheduled events, then a column for your inbox (in Ellie it'd be the brain dump) then finally the tasks you've already scheduled for today. And the fourth column, sort of, is your calendar of today. So you process your inbox, then drag tasks from today to calendar. Then done. I actually wish they didn't cram inbox and today tasks into one view but otherwise I enjoy the routinization. Hope that helps!

Chris: Reeaaaallllyyyyy want this feature. Sunsama does it very well imo. I like that it shows you which tasks you didn't complete and what you already have assigned for that day, then you can go and add tasks to that day's tasks and drag tasks into the timebox. I also like that it allows you to assign the tasks to that week's goals, and at the beginning of the week set those goals. I also like that it allows you to write what your obstacles might be - would be even better to be able to write what opportunities you have that you can take to make the day successful.

Chris: yayyy!!! I’ve been waiting for this feature! sunsama does it so well, starting off with new tasks to write, option to move them to another day if necessary, etc. so excited.

Chris: I just saw that Skedpal updated their calendar - and it has an interesting interface that could be used for daily checklists and/or multi-step tasks. They call this "bundles" and essentially they show checkbox lists right on the calendar. Skedpal is WAY too complex for my usage in general, but I do like the way they handle the grouping of "little" tasks. Their full redesign video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYMaH1Q2eag and the part about bundles starts around 4:10 or so.

Chris: I do my planning the evening before rather than in the morning. I would love to be able tot have the planning session the evening before.

Love this idea - my "getting started" and "closing the day" rituals are sooo important but I find really hard to initiate/follow!

Really loved this about Sunsama as it helps me to stay mindful and intentional with what truly matters and needed to get done. Looking forward to this feature implemented!

Great Idea, definitely interested in trying these types of features if you add them. Especially the evening review type of thing where I can really communicate to myself that I am done for the day now and its time to just be present in the day and put down the work.

I’m going to go against the flow and say no thanks! (Or at least make it optional). When I trialled Sunsama this really annoyed me!
Chris
Bec: Felt the same way when I used Sunsama, will be optional :)
It will be default OFF and you'll need to turn it off within the settings to see any of this feature
(During onboarding for any new users, they will be asked if they want to turn this on)

Chris yep i dont need this.... as someone with ADHDer i need frictionless EF braindump + timebox...
please more frictionless + EF friendly feature...
like carry over from previous day
the overview/homepage does not offer or show much info... it can overwhelm me or someone with a EF dysfunction
