Button or shortcut to auto schedule a task to the next available slot
Would be interesting if this could be smart somehow and take into account previously scheduled tasks/preferences/etc...

Right now I am using Ellie AI but it is rather slow. It does the job but I also have to prompt it very specifically.
This site has a free tier where we press a button and does it automatically. Of course it doesnt need to be that advanced but having a button to press which pushes all items to the next available time today would be really great as I have to move 2-3 times many times throughout the day and it gets quite repetitive(and honestly doing it myself is faster than Ellie AI which takes 3x as much time to "process the request").
it is like Motion app sort of but a very primitive version without any of the "noise".
In the picture attached you can see the "Recalculate button" easily visible which does it automatically.

Or if easier if we can save specific prompts for Ellie AI to streamline it. Unsure what is easiest.

This would be amazing if able to add it. Also have some sort of work hours, personal hours, and then depending on how the task is tagged it adds it into slots during those hours.

Hi, I love sunsama has the 'x' keyboard shortcut to quickly assign it to the next available time. That would work too!
Though a complete AI thing would be interesting(maybe based on priority and time) but that is a big project I think

Did some testing, AI models are good (and cheap 👀) enough to do this in a reliable way now.
Will be working on a version of this that you can enable in the power feature menu!

The only thing that could make this app even more crazy amazing! Some kind of smart auto rescheduling like it does with rollover tasks.

San thanks for reminding me! Will be doing an experiment soon and then opening this up as a "beta" power feature for people to test on desktop :)

I've been looking for this feature everywhere since Sorted 3 died. It has a magic wand button that will automatically reschedule everything that isn't finished, taking into account customized buffer times between tasks. If certain tasks need to be done at certain times, the user can lock it before tapping autoschedule. An improvement upon that would be the ability to break up single tasks into multiple time blocks. For example, I have a lunch break locked from 12-1pm. Autoschedule would then break up the task around that time block, similar to Sunsama's function.
