Apple calendar for web/desktop is now live :)
To access simply go to Settings -> Calendars and link your Apple calendar account
I've also created this resource page to help walk you through the feature: https://guide.ellieplanner.com/features/the-timebox/apple-calendar-integration
This feature was SUPER complex so if you notice any issues or bugs please report them 🙏
Thanks for everyone who helped out with this!

Wow, congrats!!!
Just to confirm, this will sync with the Mac (desktop) version of Calendar, not iCal? The two confuse me :D
Chris
Mia: Oh sorry for the confusion,
What I meant was that the beta is only accessible through that beta url on the web and not on the Ellie Mac app itself
I'll make an edit to my original comment :)
Chris
Hello everyone, looking for users to help beta test the new Apple cal web (and soon desktop) integration 👋
If you are interested, you can access it here: https://beta.ellieplanner.com/
Some things to note:
- The integration will only work on that beta URL on the web, not on the Ellie Mac app. Once the beta is over, it will begin working automatically on the Ellie Mac app.
- It is completely separate from the iOS integration
This is a SUPER complex feature and there might be a few bugs, please report them here so I can get them fixed 🙏🙏🙏

Chris: Hi Chris, Love the work you are doing.
Linked my apple calendar and everything looks fine, except repeating events -> Think what i see at the moment is the event the day i created it.
Thanks for looking at this and adding the feature. one point away for using Ellie as my default(Outlook integration). 💪
Chris
Kenny: Hey Kenny, great catch!
Can't believe I forgot to account for that 😅
I just pushed an update so recurring events should show up now (you'll need to refresh the page to make sure you have the latest).
Could you let me know if it works?
Note: Editing/deleting recurring events is disabled for now but could come in the future. The technical complexity of altering recurring events is so massive it needs to be a completely separate feature

Chris: Looks like it's working 👍🏼
I know how hard it could be to implement things like this. I'm a developer as well 🙈 Already nice to see the apple calendar feature is working

Update on this!
It looks like there might be a way to pull this off now 🤞
Will be doing more research and keep everyone posted here as new developments are made
Chris
Adding a note here for future readers:
Unfortunately I took a look at this and ran into a TON of technical issues. Apple makes it near impossible to pull this data off of a users device :(
I revisit this one every few months and hopefully it can come in the future but for now it doesn't look possible. The closest thing would be building the integration into the Mac app (but that would require your calendar be added to Apple calendar) and it wouldn't allow full 2-way syncing
🤞🤞🤞 UPDATE: July 12, 2023
It looks like there might be a way to pull this off. Will keep everyone updated here

Hi Chris, this is a must feature for me. I don't like planning on a small device like my iPhone I'd much rather do it on a larger display. In fact I may not even use this iPhone app.
