Add, edit, or delete Google calendar events

Have the ability to create, edit, and delete Google calendar events, including optional Zoom or Google Meet meetings. The ability to add your Google contacts would be a big plus!

Please yes. This is the only thing holding Ellie back from being
the
planning app. Being able to add/edit calendar events.B

Hi Chris, just adding to this request, can you possibly add a confirmation button for delete? I accidentally deleted an event and it was gone in a flash with no way to get it back. The confirmation message could warn you that the event will be deleted from Gcal not just Ellie. Also, in other calendars when you delete (or edit) 1 event in a series it asks if you want to delete (or update) just that 1 event or all in the series - that would be super helpful as well if possible.
Chris
Bec Great idea, out of curiosity did you do this on the iOS or desktop app? Will add to both

Chris: For me, the ability to edit the day's meetings would be great. For example, I have my meetings that I must attend but then I add optional meetings I attend, if there's time. I'd like the ability to quickly remove those optional meetings from my calendar from Ellie without going into Google calendar then back into Ellie.
Chris
Yese: Interesting, could you clarify what you mean when you say "remove those optional meetings". Do you mean decline the events? or delete the events?

Chris: Hey! Adding to this thread because not sure where else to put it. Is there a way to turn off two-way edit? I have events on my calendar that are company wide. I removed them from my view on ellie and it removed the entire event from everyones calendar. Is there a feature I'm missing? It would be helpful to be able to toggle the edit functionality but I also understand if that's difficult to achieve. Basically I'm hoping to remove an event from my ellie view without it deleting the actual event on my Gcal! Thanks!
Chris
Liana: Hey Liana!
Let me know if I'm misunderstanding but it sounds like you want to have certain Google calendar events NOT displayed inside of Ellie
Is it all events from a single calendar? If so, super easy. You should be able to toggle individual calendars on/off
If its specific events, unfortunately not possible at the moment. Let me know if this is the case and I can try to think through some possible solutions here, I have some ideas.

Chris Hey! I was referring to the ability to remove specific events from calendars from my Ellie view without it actually removing the event on GCal! There are sometimes company events that I am invited to that I can't really respond 'No' to, but I also don't want it hogging space on my Ellie calendar. In a recent example, I was trying to remove 'Friday Lunch Invite!' from my Ellie view and accidentally removed it from every calendar in my org. So some form of a one-way vs two-way editing switch would be nice. I think the ability to edit a GCal event in Ellie is useful so I wouldn't want that feature to go away for others, but I would love the option to toggle Ellie's ability to make edits to my master GCal. Does that make sense? Kind of hard to explain so I'm happy to provide more info where needed! Also not the biggest issue in the world, I can easily work around this!

This is one of the only things that is missing and why I can't fully move over to Ellie. It is so close to everything I need from Sunsama for a reasonable price.
Chris
Paul Hulford: Hey Paul, will work on slowly adding more of this functionality soon. Would love to hear which actions you take so I can make a list of what to prioritize :)

I agree, I need this as well. I discovered Ellie and realized that I have to use two separate apps to manage everything.

Agreed. This would be high on my priority list. Currently using Morgen for this reason. If Ellie was able to do this, it would be a complete app and I would gladly switch over 100%.

Agreed, the ability to create and manage events through Ellie would make it the complete app. No need to constantly use two if Ellie could handle both.
