See all tasks in a list view. Sometimes my tasks are so far spread in the kanban I lose them. Would be good to see a list of all my tasks in one place.

Will be running an experiment soon of a view that has this, not 100% it will make it into the app fully but would love to try and see how people use it!

Chris, please work on this for us! I'd like to work on the list to get the right fit for now. I need a view by list. I was imagining a kanban view, but would take anything. I started out by making a lot of list... that may not work, but there is no way to get into it and make changes quickly and easily. Its quite cumbersome in it's current set up. I am loving ellie though! ❤️❤️🩷🔥🔥

See ALL Tasks in a Master "All Tasks" List

It would be really helpful to have a master list with all tasks, ideally with the ability to be sorted by label and due date. Right now, there is the ability to filter by a label but that is not very helpful if you have tasks that only occur annually, quarterly, or monthly. You are left scrolling for ages trying to see all upcoming tasks associated with a label.
-- Proposed Solution: "All Tasks" List --
Similar to the existing "Brain Dump" list, a permanent, non-removable "All Tasks" list should be added. This list would provide a single, unified view of all tasks within the system.
-- Sorting and Organization within "All Tasks" --
The "All Tasks" list should be sortable using the following hierarchy:
- Primary Sort: Label
Tasks should be grouped and sorted alphabetically by label. Any tasks without an assigned label should be grouped under an "Unlabeled" category.
- Secondary Sort: Due Date
Within each label group (and the "Unlabeled" category), tasks should be sorted by due date, with the earliest due dates appearing first. Tasks without a due date should appear at the end of their respective label group.
- Recurring Tasks:
Recurring tasks should appear only once in the "All Tasks" list, sorted according to their next upcoming due date. This prevents the list from being cluttered with multiple instances of the same recurring task.
Example:
Imagine a user has tasks labeled "Work," "Personal," and "Household." The "All Tasks" list would display:
Work:
- Work Project A (due next week)
- Work Project B (due in 2 months)
Personal:
- Personal Appointment (due tomorrow)
- Personal Errands (no due date)
Household:
- Household Chores (due next week)
Unlabeled:
- Unlabeled Task 1 (due next month)
-- Optional Enhancements: --
Label Filtering: The current filter options in Ellie would affect the "All Tasks" list giving the user the ability to focus on specific label(s) within the "All Tasks" list.
Sort by List: Add the ability to sort the "All Tasks" list by the original task list the item was assigned to, in addition to sorting by label and due date.

This was my first thought for an improvement after exploring and setting up some initial things!
Love the simplicity and classiness of the app itself, but definitely need a “master view”

oh i really need this too! i’d love a place where i can see all my tasks, across lists, planned and unplanned. sometimes tasks from a single project live in their list, others in the braindump and others spread over multiple dates. i need to see them together.
Perhaps iitd be nice to see the link to the list even after you’ve planned it? Like maybe seeing a shadowy task thats planned but appears in the list and then they disappear once crossed off.
Or just a way to click all lists and be able to scroll through everything and perhaps rearange. Some lists i just forget to visit cause i drop something into ellie on the go and forget about it. but i dont want less lists that get long and lose clarity.
i only use it on ios so its hard to maintain a sense of everything thats going on

Things 3 does a great job showing "upcoming" events and tasks.
I think it'd be great to see all the upcoming tasks as well as all the unscheduled tasks in one view.

I would find this extremely useful. I have too many lists to make the vertical view very practical. Being able to see everything in a single view and move tasks between different lists would be amazing.

This would be such a great feature! Additionally, the ability to sort tasks by label in a list view would be great, or to sort them by due date -- I'd love to be able to do that

I would love this as well. I would love it as a view tab next to the "Calendar" and "Tasks" tabs, with a third view -- a list form -- that collects all upcoming tasks (sorted chronologically), but which subtracts any days with no tasks.
