This one covers two releases: a big update for web and desktop, and Ellie 4.0.14 for iPhone and iPad 👀
Here are the biggest updates:
1. Get deleted tasks back from Trash
Deleting something doesn't have to be permanent anymore. Deleted tasks and lists now go to Trash for 30 days, along with their notes, subtasks and attachments, so you can restore them if you change your mind.
On web and desktop, Trash is in the menu under your profile picture. On iPhone and iPad, it's in Settings. Deleting an entire repeating series is still permanent, and Ellie tells you when that's the case.

2. Edit Google Calendar events without leaving Ellie
This has been one of the most requested features on the board for a long time. Open any Google event, click the pencil, and change the time, title, guests, location, notes, color, reminders or repeat settings. For a repeating event, you choose whether the change applies to just that event, that event and the ones after it, or the whole series.
Guest suggestions come from your Google contacts, with their photos. It's on web and desktop now, and coming to iPhone and iPad soon. Editing Outlook and Apple Calendar events is coming soon too.

3. More power features on iPhone
A lot of power features that used to be web-only now work on iPhone too:
  • Daily Planning and Daily Shutdown.
Review yesterday, pick what you want to get done today, push back what can wait and timebox your day. At night, wrap up and plan tomorrow. Nothing changes until you tap Finish, and you can set a reminder for each one.
  • Analytics.
See where your time went by label, compare estimated and actual time, and export your completed tasks as a CSV.
  • MCP / API Access.
Connect Ellie to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and more, with setup steps for each one.
Turn them on in Settings › Toggle power features.

4. Lots of small refinements on web and desktop
Ellie on web and desktop got a careful polish pass. Menus, dialogs and the date and time pickers were rebuilt, Settings and Analytics got a cleaner layout, and a lot of tiny interactions feel better. Escape now closes just the list you're in instead of the whole window, focus goes back to where you were, and typing in Japanese, Chinese or Korean no longer closes or submits things mid-word.

Also new and improved
  • iPad: Ellie now works in Split View, Slide Over, Stage Manager and portrait. The week calendar is much faster, and you can hold and drag to move or resize tasks and events again.
  • Siri works as soon as you install Ellie. Try "Add a task to Ellie" or "Open Timebox in Ellie". On iOS 27 you can say things like "Remind me to call Mom tomorrow at 3 in Ellie".
  • The AI Assistant got a big upgrade on web and desktop: it shows tasks and results as cards, and you can dictate to it. On every device, you can now choose whether it asks before changing anything, it's better at finding free time on your calendar, and it can create repeating tasks.
  • Daily Planning and Shutdown on the web now only apply your changes when you hit Finish, too.
  • The Mac menu bar got a redesign: timer controls, what's up next, and your next meeting with a one-click Join (Zoom links open straight in the Zoom app).
  • If you pay on the web, Membership & Billing now shows all your invoices and receipts, and lets you switch between monthly and annual, cancel, or resume on your own.
  • Calendar blocks on iPhone and iPad now use your label colors, like on the web.
  • Event details show your guests' photos.
  • Clearer steps when Google or Outlook needs you to reconnect, and you can now remove a Google account that's asking you to sign in again.
  • Refreshed Help & Support, About, and Data Export & Deletion screens on iOS.
Fixes
  • Repeating tasks no longer disappear after you complete or add another task.
  • On iPhone and iPad, a task you moved no longer shows up on its old day too, and tasks keep their place in a day when you use Ellie on more than one device.
  • On iOS 27, tasks dropped onto the Timebox land at the right time, and the Timebox opens at the current time again.
  • The Timebox on iPhone no longer comes up blank after launch, and its resize handles respond reliably.
  • On Windows, reopening Ellie brings back the planner instead of only the timer or Quick Capture.
  • Fixed Ellie going blank at certain window sizes.
  • Moving a Google event to another calendar keeps its color and reminders.
  • More reliable desktop timers, including the Mac menu bar timer.
  • Plus a long list of smaller drag-and-drop, calendar sync and stability fixes across web and iOS.
Thanks for all the feedback and votes. Trash, Google Calendar editing and iPad multitasking were all requested right here, so keep them coming.
If your iPhone or iPad doesn't have 4.0.14 yet, you can update Ellie from the App Store.
